About us

Frank Nicolson (She/Her)

Director

Hi, I’m Frank and I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who’s been supporting families using the science of learning (Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA) for over 15 years.

I’ve been lucky enough to learn from world-leading practitioners in the U.S., Canada and Australia who’ve given me great clinical skills as well as taught me the importance of compassion, respect and the power of joy.

I love getting to know each family’s unique story, and tailoring my research-backed strategies to maximise their impact on the whole family’s wellbeing. My style is very collaborative, and I want to work together with families to help them be the caregivers they want to be.

Outside of work, my second passion is Improv Comedy, and I’ve performed on stages in Sydney and Toronto. Improv helps me to be a better listener, overcome fear, and always “find the fun”

Philosophy

Beehive Supports is driven by compassion, respect, and a celebration of diversity. We focus on understanding and supporting the unique strengths and challenges of each individual we work with.

Beehive Supports is committed to staying current with the latest research, and continuously seeks to incorporate innovative and inclusive practices into our work.

Values & Principles of Practice

We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for both child and caregiver.

  • We ensure we minimise the need for children to resort to dangerous behaviour at any time during intervention and beyond.
  • Our approach always begins with the child’s assent. We believe in the importance of honouring a child’s right to opt out of intervention at any time.
  •

Our personalised and family-centred services consider each family’s unique needs, preferences and cultural perspectives. We always aim to foster a safe and respectful environment where everyone feels valued, seen and heard.

We believe that active collaboration is key to achieving best outcomes and encourage open communication with caregivers and other relevant professionals to create a personalised support plan that meets the unique needs of each child.

We are committed to continuous improvement. We actively seek and use feedback, and stay current with research and best practices so we can provide the most effective, compassionate, and responsible support.

We value transparency and honesty by providing clear and concise information about our support services to caregivers and families. Transparency is vital for building trust and creating an open and collaborative environment.

We believe that support services should be enjoyable even when learning challenging skills. We aim to create opportunities for caregivers and their children to connect and engage in enjoyable activities that promote well-being for the whole family.
